My cpu is a celeron original speed 700 and now at 788mhz using (10.5*75) and if i bring it up the next step which is 10.5*83 will the Fsb speed corrupt my harddrive?
700Mhz@788Mhz Celeron
Abit Vl6 m-board
256 megs of SDRAM (micron and samsung 7.5 nan sec/ pc133)
TNT2 Nvidia card
56k modem
8x4x32 samsung cd-rw
52x Cd-rom
2 old harddrive total of 4.5 gigs of space (yea i know that sucks but im gettin a 40 gig soon)

I'm not going to lie, it might. If you have a way to increase your motherboard VIO (input/ouput votage, the voltage supplied to almost everything on the board.), I think it would be OK at 10.5x83. Have you tried 100MHz FSB? A few chips will run at 1050, so you should give that a shot . . . .

yea but isint that a far strech, i have a descent fan and all but will the 100mhz fsb fry my cpu? as im writing its currently running at 35 degrees celsius and the overheat temp is 60 degrees so if i bring it ur to 1005Mhz will that bring up the temp too high?
what will happen first? the computer will crash or will the cpu fry when i bring up the bus speed?

Most likely your computer will crash.
But if you have a good HSF I dont think there will be a problem running it @ 100 FSB (maybe you need to increase your CV a bit), Last week a friend of mine bought a cely 700, I had to see what it could do:D and I had it running @ 1100 1.90 V within 30 minutes, no problems and only a 2-3C increase (with a PEP66).
Also if you try to run it at 10,5*83 your PCI will be way out of spec (40 or 41 Mhz) and that could cause problems, some cards don't like that.
I would say give it a shot, it didn't give me any problems it just wasn't stable at 83 FSB.
Hope you get it running @ 1050 (or more :p )

Yea give 100 a shot with a bump in voltage.

damn i forgot to tell you guys but my m-board only supports up to 1000mhz (abit vl6) and if i do 100*10.5 its gonna be at 1050mhz.
I tried doing that as soon as I read your replys but it wouldint boot up so i had to turn of the power supply on the back of my pc and boot up at the deafult. Does this mean im stuck at 788mhz and cant go any higher?

I'm sure your MOBO supports more than a 1000Mhz CPU, it's just that when they made the board a 1000Mhz CPU was (probably) the fastest at the time.
Your CPU probably needs a bit more CV in order to boot, I would say you up it to 1.80V let windows load and restart, enter BIOS and set the FSB to 100.
If it isn't stable or it still doesn't boot (watch your temps) it could be a heat problem or it needs a bit more CV, 1.90-1.95V should be safe.
Good Luck, and if you have any more questions....we are here to help you.

damn i know im being a pain in the ass, but yea i tried 1.90 volts and booted it up at 788 (10.5*75) and then enterend the bios and switech the bus speed to 100mhz but when i restart with the new settings, it doesnt even boot to let me see what kind of video card i have, so i have to reset the computer in the back of the power supply. Do u think 1.95volts would do? is it safe? what else can i do? HELPPPPPPPPPPPP oh yea and my temp stays at 35 degrees selcius when its overclocked to 788mhz

Check for a BIOS upgrade for your board. Try running with just the vid card, and nothing else. Also, your temp sensors might not be reading correctly. You may be running hotter than what is shown in your hardware monitor. Worst senario, is that you've hit the limit for your particular procsessor, but I don't really think you have.
