I have a new idea that is a good one I have ordered the parts but you have got to give this one a go.
Get a large plastic pipe not unlike that you find on the back of a tumble dryer. Mod this to the side of your case, chuck the pipe out the window so that cold air gets to it and turn on your PC.
This cold air from outside into your computer, while not being air conditioning cold here in england where I live its still cold so as long the outside air is cooler you will always have a cool pc i'll post some pics and results soon!!
what if it starts raining??

maybe my idea needs some tuning but I'll get there i will mount to the out side of my house and then put an extractor fan on the out side but I will reverse it so it blows in...
Rain Shouldn't be a problem if I have have it mounted horizontally.
I will get a hygrometer for my case so I know how much H20 is in the air....

i did basically the same thing, but i attached the flexible tubing to my air conditioning vent in my basement computer room, it was sick, my ambient case temps were like 20C
I've heared of the software 'rain', but I dont actually fancy real rain in me computer.
But really, a good idea. I read an article a while back from a guy in the US who did basically this, but his conduit went straight under his floorboards to under his house! He reported great results.

I saw a pic of a guy who did this...seemed pretty effective, but just make sure you have some sort of filter on there, and make it face downwards so you don't get water...might want to get clear tubing in case a rat jumps in ;)

I'll put a high power 120mm fan on one end so if a rat does get it will be all mushed up by the time its get my pc!!!
Getting cool air in is a good idea but that is all you want in...
I have had cats crawling in the bottome of my pc before..
I left the side cover off and it got in!!
cool ideas. unluckily we can't get the same good results in hk...

Had something similar happen to my sister's PC. I had the side panel off, I was on the phone, and I saw her cat paw on over to the case and try to sniff the fan on the heatsink. That cat didn't hang around the PC much after that.

LOL!! Probably had its whiskers chopped off or something!!!
I am unlucky I have an animal loving family we have 3 cats and 2 dogs and they are alway interested in the insides of my computers!!! None have been fried yet (computers or animals) although one day I'm sure something will happen!!

sounds like quite the idea, just make sure you get all the kinks out first
one of my friends had a watercooling kit, he pumped some pure ethol alchohol into the kit and attached a mini refrigerator he had. he overclocked his 1.4 amd to 2.7 and the load temp was 38 :p
that is a baddass idea

This sounds interesting...any chance he might take the time to post instructions, guides, etc :) ...2.7Ghz...amazing...and at 38c
And how expensive?...

I thought about running a duct to my window but it gets so humid here that i would be screwed in no time.We have to drain our air compressors at work at the end of everyday and about a gallon of water comes out.

Here in the uk its always cold so the colder it is outside the colder it would be in my pc!!

the process really isnt all that difficult, you just have to make sure that you have the alcohol PLENTY cold. he has copper lines running from the cooling block to the pump, then to the fridge, then through a filter, and then he put in another pump to keep the alcohol moving fast, and from the second pump back to the cooling block which he made himself (pure copper) i have no idea where he got all the copper to make it but somehow he did, and the mofo is awesome.

i take it you will put a cover over the end so it points down, just incase rane does get in
