Well I got 19437 on my rig and I believe the card was overclocked at the time. What are the default clocks on the 9800Pro Ultimate??

Scph9002

it is 380core and 340 memory

Those are the same as a normal 9800 Pro. What makes this the 'Ultimate Edition' then??

Just for the record:
That sink is passive and uses heatpipes to transfer heat from one side to the other

You should easily break 20K on a fresh install of XP...and if tweaked right and OCed right...you should break 23K...

26029 (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8395856) is the best I can do so far...this with just tweaking my the AGP drivers and running the card at 463/412 (strickly air cooled)...I am gunning for 26.5k on XP...this should let me break 27k in W2K...

I see your 'Previous 9800 Pro OC' in your sig - just curious, what does your new 9800 Pro do? I can't even break 400MHz core on mine... :(

I think you could get a much higher score from overclocking your cpu, 01 scores are VERY dependant on cpu's because modern cards have more than enough power to run 01. My friend's x800pro scores the same as my old 9700np because we had about the same cpu, Athlon64 2800+ and 3000+.

20k is kinda hard on a p4 unless it does 3.5GHz or better. remember, p4s need almost double the clocks to match a64s, I get 20385 with my 9700 and winchester set to 1.75GHz so youd need like 3.4GHz on the p4 and a stock 9800pro or better

why not try breaking 20k by turning off the things running in the background and rebooting first?

Why do I only get around 16K in 3DMark01 on my 9800 Pro that I flashed to XT?

whats the rest of your system look like?

01 is heavily dependant on cpu/ system memory whereas 03 and 05 both rely heavily on the gpu/vmemory

I don't think it's double the frequency, I think on A64's you need to add about 1200mhz +/- 200mhz depending on core type.

your cpu is holding you back.you will need either a hefty cpu overclock or an a64 to get 20k.

ive gotten 28k on 01 with a p4 @ 4.2

course i had a decent oc and x800xt to help out though.

with my old 9800pro i could score around 24k with same setup though.

WHAT lol i broke 20 on my 2.48 cloked mobile barton (that really only had 256 cache so was really a t-bred) that was with a NICE 9800pro with stock cooling at the time and only 256 non dc ram... 20k wihtout a A64 and with a 9800pro...lol you don't even need dc ram to do so or a "very" high cpu oc...just some nice tweaking of xp...a decent fsb and a nice cloking card...

Well it started out at around 470...now about the max stable on core is between 459 and 463 (depending on system temps)...For my cooling I am using a stripped down VGA with 2x60mm ys tech fans...without that...I can barely do stock on core...

I found a nice pro to XT bios a few days ago that has allowed me to get to 412Mhz on memory now with tweakmonster ramsinks...

7265 (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=3638355)

And my old Pro was the best 125.00 I ever spent...wish I still had it...

Its based on a percentage, not MHz numbers or I could argue that a 500MHz a64 would match a 1.7GHz p4 :p

as for 20k, yes you can hit it with a 2.5GHz tbred if you have high fsb, good ram and tweaks but my winchester at 1.75GHz and a 9700 did 20.4k :D

I dunno if the thing of Windows 2000 being faster than Windows XP still applies to Athlon 64s. I would understand if you still had an Athlon XP.
