How to get to bios?

The bios on this Compaq Presario is password protected. How the heck can I reinstall windows when I cant get into bios? Is there any way I can clear cmos to remove the password or anything?

Try removing the battery and pressing the power button a few times, it may reset the bios to defaults.

if your aim in this is overclocking it...dont even try. comcrap's BIOS options are hideous.

If your going to reset the cmos you don't need to get into windows.

Throw it out the window of a second story building...that way you installed windows and have a killer OC...until it hits the ground ;)....

To get around a bios password, you should check with the manufacturer to try and find the backdoor password. Or removing the cmos battery for 15 minutes to 24 hours should also do the trick.

It seems I have to remove the cmos battery for 5 minutes according to compaq. It is a SERIOUS pain to get it out though :(
