Hey guys, strange question time.... The Mobility 9800 Pro Video Card that is offered on the Inspirion XPS and 9100; it is possible to purchase the card seperately, on ebay especially. My question; how do you know if its compatible? Would it work on only Dell laptops? I know its only sold on them, but doesn't another ODM like Clevo or Compal make Dell's laptops? If so shouldn't it be compatible with similar models? I'm just wondering because I'd love to utilize the 8 pipelines and 256 megabytes in that card. :-D As it is the laptop I'm ordering is equipped with a still acceptable 9700, which is still pretty damn good. I appreciate any help. Toodles.

Yes you can and yes you can replace it yourself - i plan to do the same thing but so far Dell is selling it cheaper then what i can find it on Ebay anyways - or at least last time i looked.
Basiclaly there is only 1 type of mobility Radeon 9800 256mb cards.

Alright cool. Now another question, if I got an ABS G3, because it can handle the 9700, would it be able to handle the 9800? I'm fairly certain they have upgradable video cards. (since you can order them with a video card as an OEM laptop, its fairly logical to consider you can replace it) I hope so, I'm getting the laptop either way I just want hope for the future.
