Ok guys we need to keep hitting the front page. We have seen what a big push can do, we need to keep up the pressure. I propose a monthly "newsletter" type article for FaH on the front page.

Possible inclusions:
Basic spiel at the start about what FaH is plus a link to previous FaH articles.
Developments in the Science side of things.
New work units and FaH software
Third party software (eg Overclockix, stats etc)
Another article or two, vary them from month to month. Like a borging guide one month, overcoming objections the next, ensuring stability the third etc etc

Once we get the new website up, it would be good to tell everybody in a front page article, that should get us quite a few new folders!

If anyone wants anything on such an update, feel free to email it to me at davidnelson [at] gmail (d0t) com and I will include them all and add some spiel to the start of the article.

Credit will be given where due of course.

no... but what I can do is set the batch file to copy FAH to the thawspace drive... and redirect the registry hack to initialize FAH from that seperate location.

I would suggest the first article be more along the lines of a newbie introduction on the different clients and the purpose of folding. Also include the reasons why it will not slow your machine down. Power users are pretty easy to get as they have the machines to use the one-clicks and run multiple instances.
We need to attract the enthusiasts and not scare them with technical talk. I would also suggest we add to the stickie the GUI version and instructions on how to set it up for HT or duals too. Keeping the guy who's averaging less than 50PPD is going to be the challenge. I sort of look at this as the KISS principle. (keep it simple and stupid)

I would suggest that articles that have a broad appeal will get more converts.
We can always suck them in and get them to upgrade once they have everything going but we need to get em involved first.

Just a thought

Great idea! I would be glad to edit for spelling and grammatical errors, as long as it is done before February 20th or so. Thanks.
