Hello!
amm...i am kinda new to AMD...I mean i have never tried understanding them! but now, i am convinced that they are more efficient...
I was wondering that is the difference between amd duron or t-bird?
i know there t-birds with speeds of up to 1.4 GHz, but AMD is proud of releasing a 1 GHz Duron! (or something like that!)
I am kinda confused here...which one is the better processor?
like which one is Pentium 3, which is 4?! or celeron?!
Thanks!

duron is the budget processor, more akin to a P3 than a celeron though, the reason AMD are so proud of the 1ghz duron is its got a new core, which makes it about as quick as the current T-birds of same MHZ

Tbird is able to absolutely trounce a P4 of same clock speed, but p4's are actually finally becoming quickier, 1.4 tbid cant quite keep up with 2ghz P4

amd are soon to release what they are calling "athlon XP" which uses the palomino core, it will be noiticably quicker than Tbird.

as my opinion, just wait till athlon xp released coz it will give u more speed and more performance than t/bird.

but i was wondering why u gonna put amd chip inside your compie coz it's very hot in malaysia. isn't it....? :)

Probably within the next month or so. I would just splurge on a nice new 1.4 tbird for $100 ya just can't go wrong. <g>.
