Can't OC with mobo... HELP!

I got a Slot 1 mobo that's model is ex-6ap2 and I want to overclock the installed P-II 233 CPU...
When I change the multiplier it just doesn't respond...
Are the P-II CPUs multiplier locked? Or I'm doing something wrong?
The mobo looks like a Micro ATX or something with an AT and ATX power supply support...
Can any one please help me?

The multiplier must be locked. I wasnt aware Intel had been locking them as early as in the 233, but my guess is yours is locked.
