View Full Version : Bubbles in EC System

I recently built an evaporative cooling system for my computer and I'm having lots of issues with air bubbles. The intake on the tower seems to take in air and I have no idea why. The water level is far above the intake. It also seems to take in air when bubbles come through the sprayer at the top, and I don't know why this would happen. It doesn't seem to adversely affect cooling that much (I have 40 C load temps), but it might lower it a few degrees if I could stop the bubbles coming in. Anyone have any ideas?

fill the tube with ping-pong balls or something, to discourage surface turbulence in the bottom of the tube, maybe?

What do you mean by "intake" for your tower? Do you mean the part where it OUTPUTs to your pump?
I found ping pong balls too restrictive to airflow when I filled my tower with them. If turbulence is an issue at the bottom, maybe you could try putting a piece of foam or sponge at the bottom of the tower to dampen the water's fall?
