View Full Version : Asus A7V winME and Win2000 server

I just bought a new HDD (quantum fireball plus AS 60gb) and also i have another (quantum plus KA 18gb) the small disk uses udma66 and the bug one uses udma100 when i connect them both on promise100 controller (onboard controller) i can "use" only one disk out of 2.in the first disk i have winME (for DOS games and old stuff) and in the other i want to install windows 2000 server. but...:( :( :( +:( i have this slight (GRRRRR) problem when i try to install win2k the pc "sees" only one HDD and i dont want to use one HDD for both OSes. i want to put winMe on the small disk and Win2k on the big disk....what can i do..??? please help me if you read anything that you don't understand please go right ahead and ask me....ITS VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE AND ANSWER IB THE NEXT 12 hours right now its 10:06 GMT

put the slower hd on the IDE bus.

it seems that you haven't understand the problem here.. i do not want to put tha slower HDD on the IDE bus of VIA. i did that and the problem persisted....now....what can i do ? if you do not understand something please tell me and help me to solve this
and to finaly install both of the OSes.

Either Take out the drive that has ME and just install W2K on the other drive or set the drive with me to slave and the other to primary and install W2K. You really should plug the ME drive to the IDE on the mobo and give the new drive the card.

ok but how it is going to dual boot the system with this kind of "trick" ?
