9600 xt, AMD Athlon XP 2600, 512mb mem (RESTARTS)

I have just purchased a Radeon 9600xt 128, MSI KT6V motherboard and a AMD athlon xp. After running Halflife 2 and 3dmarks for more then 2 - 3 minutes my system restarts.

Here is what i have done to trouble shoot.
-installed newest ATI drivers (Didnt help)
- Ran Clean Cab and installed newest drivers (didn't help)
- Ran clean cab and installed omega drivers (didnt help)
- Cried for 2hrs

Nothing on my system is overclocked.

I have an intake and exhaust fan CPU temp remains constant at 47 C. 400 watt power supply.

someone shoot me.

could it be your psu cause if thats bad it might restart or you might have to reinstall windows witch sucks nutz but i would say check the psu first

on my msi k3 it needed a bios update to run a ati card .

Thank you both for your input. Shortly after posting this questions I found my problem.

My bios was never set to 166mhz it was set to the default of 100. This was causing my pc to run at 1.18ghz and caused instability. After I pushed it up to 166 x 12 @ 1.92GHZ everything ran fine.
