Emergency!!!

i bought my wife a new wired mouse so her wireless would stop interfering with MY wireless. I download and install the mouseware 6.03 driver, reboot and it goes into hibernation... never to wake again. Can anyone tell me how to bring this stupid machine out of hibernation? i looked on the emachine website and the best i could get was a number to call for tech support. They don't have computer savvy techs, nor do they have anyone that understands what "nothing happens, except the HDD light flickers and THAT'S ALL."

soooo, the relevant info is this: it's a e-machine 5309, it won't come out of hibernation after i installed the mouseware 6.03 drivers. PLEASE HELP! this is my wife's computer for school and she NEEDS the homework and research on it. Thank you in advance for any help, and if you need any more info please ask.

hit and hold the powerbutton for 5 seconds.... it will turn off. then wait 5-10 seconds... then boot 'er up!

i tried that and all i got was a wierd flashing light... i said to heck with it and start playing with everything on the case then the power cord... it turns out that the wierd surge thingy that my wife has on her lappy was on the fritz... because it wasn't passing A/C... i jiggled everything and nothing happened so i tried a little dent-tuning and it lit back up...(there are led's to indicate voltage and stuff... ) WHEW!!! The first lesson we learned in SATCOM school was "check all your connections"... shame on me. I guess i better keep better tabs on my wife's compy stuff... but it's so boring...
