its onlt like 30 bucks but still if there are no differences than who cares ??

is there a different warranty on the refurbed ?
are they just returns that people exchanged ??

The refurbs on newegg have a 14 day warranty on them. If you send it back they will refund your money. If you haven't figured out that something is wrong with it within 15 days, there is something wrong with you anyway. Sometimes they come with all the retail trappings, and sometimes they come plain-jane. I say it is worth it.

i've experienced some refurb vid at newegg, i say it's not worth it, if something is wrong, you'll pay to shipped it back, and 15% restocking fee. That's about 20 bucks if you buy a 100 dollar card. To me that's alot to pay to gamble and in this situation, the odd is against you, the chances of getting a good card is about 3/10, the reason is that everyone can buy a graphic card, plug it in, OC it, break it, then return it. Newegg does not check these item before they shipped it out again to you, if someone returns the item, they will stuff it back into the box as refurb and sent them out to the next person. I'm against buying refurb on newegg.

What are you talking about? 3/10 chance to get a good card? 15% restocking fee? There is no restocking fee to get your money back from newegg. Also if you call them and ask, people tell me they will repay you for the shipping back to them. Also, 3/10 seems awfully low; My success rate is more like 9/10. Newegg themselves say that the refurbs come back from the manufacturer and are not just returns they throw in a box.

I have had a similar success rate. Newegg does not charge a restocking fee. The video cards are not repackaged by newegg. They come direct from the manufacture. I bought both my 6600GT TDH's refurbished and they work great. There is nothing wrong with refurbished items that come back from the manufacture.

i guess that didn't happen to everyone, but the last time i bought a card from newegg refurb, it was defective, and i had to pay the shipping plus restocking fees, i email them and explain, but they said that all return item will be charge the restocking fee (i was too scare to do an exchange because of the bad card). it's right on their part for the stocking fee, i'm not complaining, it's just that the chances are not good :(. i was reading the forums, and it seems that refurb mobo have a better rate than refurb vid cards.

It may depend on what brand video card you buy. I bought two Leadteks and they are generally high quality.

That is why you do it as an exchange, not a return. They will give you your money back. Also 1 card that doesn't work does not mean the chances are good or bad whatsoever.
