one thing though, what fan are you using? like i said i have the YS technologies fan, but it is so loud. i cant take it its so loud. what other fans are there? and are 80mm fans quieter? if so i will get an adapter and an 80 mm fan.

you can't put an adapter on the sk6, not that i know of.. the adapter required to screwed down. but the sk6 doesn't have that. anyone know an adapter for the sk6?

I am running my delta38 with 7v, and the thing is quiet... but my temp is a little high with the fan running slower. sufing at 41c and playing max payne at 47c.

yeah, like a hair dryer, but after the 7v mod. the rpm dropped in half. very quiet, but the performance is not the same, but not that bad.

use the 3pin to 4pin adapter (to use the power straight from the power supply) the adapter use one black wire and one yellow. leave the yellow where it belong but move the black to the outside (to connect with red) can anyone explain it? I don't think i am doing a good job here.. :)

that's about it

i try to explain in my simplified version

use 3 to 4 pin adapter, cut the black(ground) wire that connects to the plug for the psu connector, place the wire into the red wire(5v) and find something to hold it there, leave the yellow(12v) wire alone

Congrats !!!!
but isn't 47C a bit too high for that HSF???
i get 45FULLLOAD and idle @36C
but mines is a 1.2Ghz
but i fink u can get lowers temps by adding some case fans and u should haf a real think about ur airflow inside ur case!!
:D  :D  :D

those temps are in the area of what i get with the same setup and mobo. Last night i mounted a 120mm fan in my window right in front of the heatsink, took off my ys tech fan and made an air duct that fits tight on the fan and the other side it is the same size as the heatsink and just touches up against it. My temps dropped about 5 degreesC and its lot quieter now.

Just out of interest i read this book and it sed that
if u mount a 90mm Panoflo fan on a big HS then it will be very quiet and it cools well
but has anyone tried to buy one of those cheap huge HS/F's and tried installin a Panaflo fan on it???
if so pls tell me your results!!

not possible unless with size change adapters.......which goes for around 250$ HKD around 45$ US

unless ofcourse you make your own adapter... wich aint all that difficult if you got some materials to build with ^^ I'd say some kind of plastic bottle, of wich you use the neck. and 2 sqares of some other plastic material on with you make holes. so you'll end up with something looking like:

____
\ _ /

If you measure correctly and have access to materials it should be all that difficult. and as you all know (from beeing kids and playing with fire) plastic can be melted easily. So no probbs with melting the 3 peices together =) just be carefull not to burn yourself cause it HURTS !! some kind of (toxic?) epoxy glue might work aswell thou ^^

There are actually plastic 60->80mm converters to buy out there. but i haveto agree that a 92mm fan on a heatsink does sound very tempting ;D good cooling without the delta noise... *yum*
