recently my win2k crash due to improper install some other kind of software. but inside the box, i still had a lot of data that i needed. i know outside there has one software which i can boot into NTFS partition from dos. i try that by copy that software into win98 boot disk and follow the instruction. it mount the partition as D: , but when i do "dir" it show no files or directory!! what is going wrong over here?? it does show up the hard driver was 9Gig which is suppose to be. anyone who can direct me to the right way??

Yes I have used it in the past. About 2 years ago a friend of mine got locked out of the server at his work somebody who didn't belong there got access and changed the admin password! I made a floppy that would read ntfs and crack the password. If I can find the disk (i will look) I can email you the utility or better yet transfer it via icq.

Lemme ask this: do you have a second hard drive, even a 200mb size one? I have an idea if the other idea doesn't work.

i think i found it. i had imaged the floppy on my mac just have to go get my usb floppy drive to make a new floppy from the image. it is a usb supper disk which is floppy/120meg disk and it is over a friends house right now. i will get it back this weekend as i need it anyway.

have you tried reinstalling w2k? when doing a reinstall dont format the drive but choose the repair existing installation option.
