What is the best driver to use for the 6600gt? I'm mostly playing CS:S so I'm trying to get a driver that will run it best. Also my card shows artifacts past 560/1000. Is this a bad overclock. Currently I'm using the VXG71.20b drivers.

I use the latest drivers from the leadtek site (67.03 beta - I have no idea whether or not they are slightly different from the 67.03 available elsewhere). Use the winfox program to update the driver. I have had no issues with overclocking (550/1100) runs @ 45-47'C idle and 55-68'C load with stock cooling. Hope this helps.

Right now i'm using the 67.66 betas off Nvidia's site.....seemed to raise my 3dmark05 scores about 400 points :p

I was also wondering what is the hottest you should allow your video card to run?

Will my overclock ability without getting artifacts change with the driver I use? Or will it change with time?

I just installed a Zalman VF700cu HSF with the ramsinks(modified to fit with dremel) and I now have an overclock of 600/1200mhz with absolutely no issues whatsoever. Temps are:
idle - 39-40'C
load - 45-50'C

71.25's here. Best benchmarks from them and no problems in any games I play.
