Cloning Disc IDE->SATA

Hi,
Is it possible to clone OS (IDE disc,but I installed VIA SATA/RAID drivers) to SATA drive, and then boot OS from this SATA drive?Will it work?
I'm gonna use Acronis True Image.

I would think this is a no brainer but many people are having issues you might search for a tutorial first.

Yes it can be done, but. If you just clone from your current
ide drive to your new sata drive you will always have to
have your ide drive in system for the sata to work. The work
around is to use cloning software like Ghost to put your IDE
image onto dvd. Then remove the ide from system and boot
from dos disk, run your cloning software to install image onto
your sata drive. It will now boot from sata and you then can
put your ide back into system. Reason for this is when ide is
present some of the files will point to the ide and if its not
there it wont boot.
