I have a 1.1ghz Athlon 200mhz FSB with a Abit KT7-RAID Mobo

and I want to clock it up a bit....

How high can I set the FSB?...and should i change the PCI clock at all?

Id leave the PCI alone for now, you havce to unlock that chip to do over 100 FSB, connect tehe bridges onthe chip labeled L1, with a #2 pencil - DO NOT CROSS THEM- then you should be able to choose a FSB speed witha jumper on the board or in the BIOS or both. You might have to drop the mulitplier or/and raise the vcore voltage to get where you wanna be. Id say 1.333 is a good OC for that chip, thats 10x133

Are you sure you have to unlock it first?...

Cuase i was waiteing tilli get to Defogger repair stuff to unlock it, so I wanted to see if i could up the FSB with it locked, and i can...

I only have it set to 103 right now, but still....

and how do i set my FSB up alot?...cause in SoftMenu 3, I can set teh FSB/PCI together, or FSB + seperatly, but the FSB + can only go up to 28

that is why I was wondering if it is okay to up the PCI a bit, becuase when i change the FSB/PCI, then PCI goes up a bit too

not to argue but you shouldnt have to bridge the L1's to adjust the FSB, just the multiplier "ofcourse youl have more potential for a total overclock with multiplier adjustments". also just start as low as you can 101mhz, 102, 103....ect. until it becomes unstable then raise the v-core a notch and try to go higher....and so on

yes the pci will move in conjunction with the fsb. its ok just go untill you get instability,

My Vcore alrighty is at 1.800...

I had to raise it from the default 1.75 to get it to run stable when i first got it...

Might have something to do with the fact that i use to have a Duron 600 @ 1000 for a year on this Mobo, but i don't know...

So it is alright then when the PCI clock goes up with teh FSB....

just wanted to check that

yup perfectly normal and acceptable, i doubt that youll have much luck getting beyond 107-110 fsb though if you do please lemme know

Why is that?...

The board doesn't support high fsb speeds.

the kt7 is a 100fsb board.
kt7a is a 133fsb board.

yup yup. amd made via limit this feature as well i beleive

you should use the fsb/pci function first

and it is ok to fiddle with pci

The KT7 is theoretically capable of 133FSB the problem is the 686a southbridge doesn't offer a 1/4 PCI divider( the 686b does), hence the instability above 110 MHz FSB. I saw one review when it first came out got 114.

The best overclock would be to unlock your mulitplier and go as high as you can at 100 MHz. This will give you an idea on how far it will overclock. Then start tweeking the FSB. The 1.1 hasn't been a real good overclocker on the whole. The O/C.com data base shows 1309 as the average of those submited to their database. Ive known a few guys who had them and not one of them could get past 1200

You got the KT133 chipset that can't really hit anything higher than 110MHz, 115MHz if your lucky. We got the same CPU & when I get the A/C fixed in my room I will be goin back to 1.4GHz. Remember that chips are not equal & some will O/C higher or lower. Also O/C will depend on how your parts work as a whole. Sometimes RAM can hold you back, like me, or it could be your PCI cards or maybe your AGP card.
