My Laptop touchpad is able to go forward and back on webpages in IE just using touch motion on my Compaq but it will not work with Firefox, though I do like Firefox this feature of my touchpad is somthing that I use constantly and without that ability in firefox I really won't use it. Does anyone have a solution for it?

Hi, and welcome to the forums. I use the Linux version of Firefox on my laptop and I have my touchpad set up in X and Firefox automatically uses the forward and back scroll areas.
I had a look in my settings and couldnt see anything about it.
This may help though:
