My computer freezes when running games and high resource programs.

My specs are
amd s939 3000+ Winchester
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum
Corsair XMS DDR400 2x256mb
winxp service pack 2

I bult it last week. I think it was messing up before i installed sp2, but i forgot.

When ever i try to play a game on steam my games freeze before i even start to play them, and when i run a virus scanner it freezes after a couple of minutes. My vid card drivers seem to be having problems too. Whenever i install a new driver it will work for a little bit then the vpu recover will reset my drivers

What video card do you have and what HD?

80gb Maxtor sata HD
aspire 350W PSu( Took it from an x-dreamer)

I have an antec solution series PSU but i heard not to use antecs with msi K8N.

Are the solution series ok to use

The antec should be better than that aspire.

Anyways, go to maxtors website and download their HD diagnostic tools and run them too see if your HD is ok.

Does anyone know if the solution series will mess up my k8n mobo. People have been having problems with antecs and that mobo
