I've a building suspicion that I don't have good heat transfer between my heatsink and my cpu.
I've got a thermoengine sink sitting on top of a Duron 750@910 with a 140 fsb. I took the useles fan off the thermoengine and hooked the top of the heatsink to an 80mm case fan (blowing in) with some dryer hose. The fan is a T&T MW-825M 12B, but i've never been able to find out what it's cfm is (it came with my case). I suspect it's somewhere around 30.
Anyway, my question: When the cpu is running at about 120, if I put my finger on the bottom of the heatsink, how hot should it feel? Burning? just hot? a bit more than warm?
While I've got your ears (eyes), I'm going to upgrade the 80mm fan to either a high output sunon or a Mechatronics. The Mechatronics specs are a bit better but Sunon is a better known name. Does anyone have enough experience with Mechatronics to know whether their specs can be reliably compared to a Sunon?
