How does folding work, and has it been proven to help in any ways yet? or has any major advancements been made?
I am interested in folding, How do i join, and what team?
Can you fold while you play games, or use other applications with out a performance hit?
Any thing elese I should know?
Thanks!

You can usually fold while you play games with only a minor performance drop, if any at all. Depending on how you set it up, folding will yield to other processes. This way when you are playing a game or something else cpu intensive, folding will drop back its cpu usage so that the other process can use more.
To join, download one of the clients, configure it for your use (the username you want and team 32), and let it fold.
you can disable folding temporarily simply by going to start>run>services.msc and stopping the process. of course remember to start it again.
what has folding done?

you don't need to worry about changing the team, the instal defaults to team 32 (us)
you can edit the client.cfg to your username so that you can track your own stats at folding.extremeoverclocking.com
everything you want to know can basically be found on the stanford site (which was linked above)

I've been playing Tantra (which uses about 96% of my resources on average) with folding in the background... no performance hits in Tantra, and I'm finishing my folding in a timely manner.
