I went out today and was looking at cpu's at a local store and found a K-7 1.4 AYHJA (Y) for $135.00 usd. I couldn't pass it up. I put it in the KT7A Raid M/B and moved my 1.0 over to the box I was folding with a Duron 750 on. The 750 is in reserve untill I can afford another case and M/B. I did unlock it tonight. What a pain. I used the R/window defoger repair kit, with a toothpick and a magnifying glass. It shouldnt be too long before I get to test it. I'll be putting that puppy to work for the team also. The setup Mord was talking about is looking kinda' good right now, but I think I'll hold out for an asus or another abit.

The 1.4 is o/c'd to 1576 right now and running rock stable. Another couple of days and I'll push it some more. It is folding a BBAlphaUAHT right now and clicking off frames in around 2:05 per frame. The 1.0 is sitting at 1.0 for now. It is also running a BBAlphaUAHT and clicking out frames in about 2:40 per frame. I have never O/C'd with that M/B but I will be messing around with it soon. I should be able to at least push the multiplier up. It's a Soyo K7VTA. It was my first PGA M/B and I didn't know what I was doing when I got it. It folds O.K. but I won't game with it. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions on the soyo that might help out.

Just thought I would let you guys know I was pushing up production.

Oh Yea ! I can't forget....I'm still running a K6-2 450 @ 520. It ain't fast but it cranks out one a day. :)

Fold on my friends, Fold On.

Fold on my friends, Fold On. I can see some of the reputation for good folding that the Athlon has in your post. I'm sitting here folding a bbalphauaht at 1.7/P4 at 3:20/frame:o

To tell you the truth....I have hated that name from day one but I stuck with it for some reason. Your right though I really should change it. I'll have to think on this one for a while. The folding name would stay though, no way am I going to abandon 3000+ w/u's. :)

Thanks for that tidbit. I always wondered what kind of times a P4 would turn in. Is that with rambus memory? I was, at one point, tossing around the idea of gettin' one to see what it would really do, not what some chart tells me.

I don't think you're any more likely to hit 1 GHz with a 750 chip... some of the earlier 750's are notorious for being dogs. You're better off going for an 800 or above.

My AMCA D700 finally hit 1 GHz after I got the KT7A voltmodded.... and it needed 2.03v! These chips really crave voltage.

Not stable for some games but it is folding a bbalphauaht in 4hr10min/ 2:10 idle and 2:30 when using the internet. Picked up a whole minute going from 1.7 to 2.0. I think it will improve even more with a better HSF. My temp is 60C/140f so I Know I'm losing some time due to throttling. Now that I know this chip won't burn up I'll just let it run. I'll keep ya'll posted. If you see smoke Please call 911:eek:   I REGRET THAT I HAVE BUT ONE P4 TO GIVE FOR RESEARCH! Stay tuned. LOL
