I don't have any answers for you but I will be watching this thread. I just networked my boxes and was going to set up an internet connection/print server. I was worried about that. What o/s are you using on your boxes?

delelte your config file then when it says you have a firewall enter in YES and enter the info of the proxy

That will probably work. I was trying to use a proxy with no luck when SpeeDj put me on to using Windows ICS which worked great. I'm no longer using it, though, because I got a router which made it even easier.

On both my boxes I have WIN98 SE

I beleive you need a SOCKS configuration to get the F@H working over the LAN

Well you guys made me go ahead and play with Win98se's Internet Connection Sharing. I didn't have any problem at all getting it set up and working over my LAN. I am using a dial-up. I don't know how well it would work with a B/Band connection.
With what I have set up when I finish the 100th frame the "sharing computer" fires up the modem and connects just fine.

I hope you get yours working.

FYI, ICS works just well with broadband connections as well, always with ICS make sure you are running it on your fastest comp. I always recommend something that you are just gonna set on the side and let fold or something. The main reason being is whenever you shut down your main computer you lose your internet connection. I always resisted temptation to put it on my box that I was always messing with =)

Just hope it helps!

Well as always I have done exactly the opposite. I have it running on my k6-2 box. It is also my print server. My thinking is that the slow box is always on because it takes forever to fold a w/u. It is the one I almost never mess with, turn off, or disturb. Oh well I'm leaving it alone as it appears to be working just fine.

Thanks for the advice.

Just followed the instructions.I didn't assign any IP's. I just let the program do it.

I Set up ICS on the sharing computer and made a the floppy of the config to set up the other stations. It worked the first time, which never happens when I try and setup something. I guess I got lucky.

I take that back I did have one problem....I had tried to set up ICS on one of the other computers and didn't remove it before trying to set it up on the one it is on now and it had a conflict. You only need ICS on the "sharing computer" the others all config with the floppy you make durring setup.

I have tried it with just about everything and still can't get it going. I can use a normal proxy server program like ProxyPlus or Analogx I just can't get the ICS to work. I deisabled both of the other proxies and it still doesn't want to know any ideas??
