Its not bolted to the MB, but to the case. I think he will be ok, as long as the MB doesn't flex and snap.

my goodness.... That's a lot of work to go through to make a HSF.... Imagine if he drilled it through, and soldered/welded in some copper pipe... and connected it into a watercooling system?
Old news lol...that has been around from the early socket a processors ...

While that is prolly a waste in time/money and prolly not worth it, I'm w/ Sentential in saying, you gotta give him credit for doing it.
that looks awsome but for only 1599mhz?

It's the dashboard for Mother Board Manager.
That is a nice HS
Those temps are pretty decent too..... I'm sure there was a huge amount of back pressur though, he probably would have had better results with a blower instead of a fan.

i think he should have left it all spread out like he had it in one of the pics and had a silent fan or 2 blow on it zalman style.

Wow that is a TON of work to make just a pretty basic copper heatsink. I mean for that ammount of work you could make your self a home-made WB.
I wont deny the fact that it is really cool though :D.
oh ok i didnt read the whole thing and i noticed the penny says 2001. so this is old school. :attn:

Yes, because each year when they make new pennies, they collect all the old ones and throw them away, never to be seen again. ;) :D

He probably wont see how much he can really push it as he is using a MSI mobo.
For you noobs, MSI mobos dont like to overclock using the FSB only the multipliers.

I remember when this first came out, back when my pally 1800+ was the latest and greatest :D. I seriously considered doing the same thing he had done.
You know, I still have that duron 650 from the very first socket-A days, my week was almost pre-market ;). I got it to 1100MHz on dry ice and thought I was badass LOL

In my opinion, it's a little overboard. Props to the guy for doing it, but a bit too much effort put into it.
