Guys im so confused.

Ok so i go to turn on my comp and i get a discontinuous beep.
So i reboot it, i get it again. REboot several times and eventually i cant get in so i reseat my graphics card. (remove it and place it back in).
I get in and my computer starts booting. Then i hit windows and i get all artifacts, cant even make out windows except for that blue welcome screen is distinct even thru the mirage of artifacts.

Now when i boot in safe mode im fine. Else, everything is messed.
I threw a different graphics card in and i hit windows SOMETIMES, i cant make it past my bios POST screen, and when i do my secondary hard drive shuts off (i can hear it) and i dont see it in windows. Weird eh?

Now i noticed that when i reset the cmos, my AGP frequency was different, could it have changed and that fried my card. Also my agp aperature was at 128..im not sure what it should have been at.

I have an asus a7n8x deluxe rev2 and a ati 9700pro AIW, i purchased when it first came out for 500 bux. I hope its not hte card.

My friend will be coming over soon so we can swap parts.
ANyone have any ideas why this is happeneing and what to do. Thanks.

Ok new update. I cant even get my computer past the bios logo. I hear both hard drives turn off.

So heres what i did:

I called a friend over, we ripped out the gcard first, threw it in his, it worked. Yay! lots of money saved.
Then the hds , both worked in his.
He doesnt support my ram so we took it out and shook it in the air and blew on it like in the old cartridge days of video games. Threw it back in.

He said your mobos dead. Im like no way it gets somewhere its just not getting power maybe.
I tried his PSU IT WORKED. then i threw my psu in to check and i got nasty artifacts and couldnt even see the bios logo or fonts.
Then i put his psu in and it worked.
Just to be sure i threw an old 200 watt psu. It works.

So what do i need? I dont feel like making a new thread.
If i have 2 deltas, a 120, and 80, el cable, and neon, and 2 hds and 2 drives all needing power. HOW MUCH psu do i need. Im just gonna chuck this one out and go buy something. Im thinking 450 watt? Would that be enough?

Would that be enough? You have diagnosed it down to the power supply. These Thermaltakes (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=17-153-007&depa=1) are nice.If you look at the pictures of power supply it says peak load 550watts. Mmmmmmm good. But that is not verified.

Remeber boys and girls fold :attn: You're life could depend on it :-/

ok i found this one at local store but it only has 6 power connectors.
Can i splice them and have more . Its a 480 watt mutant mods one.
Whats weird is it only has 6 .

And i need 10 molexs.

Can i just splice or does that hurt the power supply.

As soon I read that you had HDs dropping I knew it was the PSU.

I would recommend you take that PSU you just picked up back and get a good one. Those components are too expensive to take the chance and have them powered by some generic PSU.
