Going to get a new vidcard after the 5600 bit the dust. My choices are a ChainTech 6200AGP from TigerDirect or an Aopen from NewEgg. Any opinions on which card is better? I lean to the Chaintech because of the power connector, but really don't know much about either brand. Buying today, please respond!

I dunno, the chaintech is a heard of company, wheres as Aopen you dont hear much about and plus all them capitors dont look good on the a open imagin if you was add some ram sinks and you broke one of them off! but i guess they were put on the card so you dont need a molex, i say go for the Chaintech!

I have been building and selling computers for 12 years. Chaintech was a no name when I started. I stayed away from them because they were new. They have built a solid reputation over the years with a great product. Their pricing is attractive. I have two Chaintech in the computer I am on now. Aopen has been a company which has a decent product but not in the video line. This is a new venture for them. They have built cases, optic drives, floppys and simular hardware for several years. Go for the Chaintech.

Well it looks like my mid has been made up for me, after further research the Chaintech card has a 64-bit memory bus, and I'm uncertain about the aOpen but it appears to be 128. The lack of information on this stuff is killing me, I'll be pissed if I order it and it's 64-bit. I'm going to hold off until afternoon to get some input from you guys.

yeah, I know but can only find specs for the PCI-E aOpen, assuming they're the same aside from interface.

That's the 6600, not the 6200. It was either the aOpen or an ATI 9600XT, I chose the 6200, hoping to softmod to a 6600, we'll see if it turns out......... I guess I'll be the first to post the non-modded and modded (if successful) results.
