Ok...thing is I live around the end of the world (<- Germany) and I recently got mad about my crappy Psu (<-> BeQuiet 450 W) which holds me back getting my 3.2 pressie C0 stable at fsb 250 (14x250) on my abit Max3. :bang head I have 6 7200 rpm hds, around 8 fans, no 5,25" drives and a HIS 9800 pro (will be upgraded soon to -> 6800 GT). So far for power consumption...

Now I found out most serious overclockers use either Antec, OCZ or PcPower&Cooling (<- obviously the way to go here).

Now my problem is: I even considered ordering it directly from PcPower&Cooling in USA, but they havenīt replied to any of my mails... :(

I want to ask you if you either...

- know a good reseller (NOT frozencpu) in Europe or USA to order the PcP&C 510 dlx...
- know about what the heXX is going on with PcP&C for not responding to my mails... (i.e. is there a "secret" ;) workaround to get them to reply my mail...
- know for which alternative Psu I could look out...(only -> Antec, Ocz <-)
- can tell me anything good about the AcRyan RyanPower2 550 W (I like how it looks...donīt laugh...but maybe they did sth worth the price with their new psus...). Is this psu a choice for my setup?

As you can see...Iīm kinda bugged. So plz help me...give me hint. :)

Thx

The OCZ units and the BeQuiet units (along with Tagan) are from the same OEM, Topower. Except the OCZ units are their top of the line, while BeQuiet is not quite as good quality. Being in Europe, you should be lucky enough to find the Topower P6 units (OCZ Powerstream) much easier than us folks on this side of the pond.

If you want PC P&C quality without buying from them, check out Zippy units. Fortron/Sparkle also produces some units for them, as does Seasonic.

AC Ryan is using Enhance for their units - decent quality IIRC, but I have no experience with them myself. Silverstone also uses their units.

Skip Antec for now until the new Truepowers 2.0 come out.

Well thx for ur reply!

Didnīt know about that... The only thing I hesitate buying a OCZ is that I donīt hear too good things about reliability. Many RMAs as it seems...at least here in Europe or Germany in my case. And thatīs the point: I wouldnīt want an OCZ 520 in my case without modding the crappy fans, sleeving the cables and getting rid of the pci-express/24pin-stuff (for me -> strictly 478/AGP/etc...).
But that wouldnīt be too wise considering RMA...:)

I never really liked Antec from the point of appearance, but as you say there are new ones on the way so why buying old stuff.

No idea about where I could get my beloved PcP&C here in Europe? Or a good shop in USA where I could order from overseas?

Thx

You seem like you have your heart set on a PC P&C, in that case, I'd say skip the OCZ/Skippy stuff or you probably will have a tinge of regret about it later.

I was on the PC P&C website, and it seems that they ship to Europe (since they offer FedEx Europe), just go to "Order Online."

aye, I think Iīll keep trying with PcP&C. Even if that turns out in ordering from USA (shipment times...etc :( ).

But Iīm still curious about how that ACRyans perform... Stable rails, combined power, enough power for my 6 hds and the oced 3.4@3.7-3.8-pressie... :attn:

Zippy has long been rumoured to be one of PC P&C's OEM suppliers. PC P&C has confirmed the 510 is not a Zippy made unit, but I'd almost lay money at this point (if I had any) the new 850w unit is. More info on Zippy here - these are serious PSUs:

Personally, I have never felt the urge to buy PC P&C - they cannot be found in Canada, and are far more expensive than PSU's from the OEM's they use. I'd rather buy from the OEM's themselves knowing that if PC P&C trusts them enough to back them for 5 years, I probably won't need to worry about it. Then again, I'm an experienced electronics tech and can fix them when/if they die. However, there's no denying they have about the best customer service and warranty in the business.

I hear AC Ryan and Enhance is quite decent quality wise... never seen anyone complain about them. Not many people have them on here though.
