Ghost 2003

I buildt a new copmputer loaded XP registered it loaded all MY software adn I wanted to make a clone of this perfect setup. I used Ghost 2003. I made a test restore to a clean drive in my system. All went fine, My system boots up from the new drive but I can't log on to XP. I type in my password and the dialog box goes to "loading your personal settings" for 1 second and logs me off. I know it has to do with XP registartion but Samantec didn't say anything before I bought it. Is there a way to make this work, It is for my own use. I usually format and reinstall about every 6 months to keep things fresh. Would a version 9 take care of this situation?
