2 Weeks??? Can I live that long on Dialup?

I was informed today that my college residence is going to take another 2 weeks installing drops before I can get on the internet. I've been waiting 3 weeks already, they said it would be ready last week, but no..... I don't know how much longer I can last with out dialup... running 336k (too cheap to go out and buy a 56k for the next two weeks.

I kinda feel your pain..... I've not gotten to use cable or DSL, so I don't truly feel horible, but I run 56K, and I've had to use a 33.6 a few times before, and all I remeber is how SLOW it is....

Each day just say "I think I can...." :D

My wife and I are in a temporary living situation with her parents and we've been on dialup for over a month now. I had dsl at out old apartment and can't wait to get into our townhome and order some bandwidth! It will probably be around December I get something installed.

Good thing I've got a dual-T1 here at work.

during classes I have access to 100Mbps... it's so horrible to go back home and use 56k just 15 minutes later....

I'm thinking of portable storage, like a USB Harddrive, or something like that, but they all look too expensive... Oh well... it's only 2 weeks.................

I remember when I first got a 33.6 modem Boy was I in seventh heaven so much faster then 2400. O well back to downloading at 500KB/sec

I think that maybe this topic should be removed ;) (silenced,actually) as there are still places in the world where 46.6K is the fastest availible, no DSL,T-Whatever, ISDN-Hopeless and R1.60 (US$0.17 - a lot for us!!) call charges.
