I'm using a 6800GT Golden Sample from Gainward, and it's set to 'enhanced mode' which is a factory programmed overclock guaranteed to work on any system.

Lately I've noticed some small problems, and I'm not sure if it's related to the card or not.

On two occasions, I've seen the screen to be quite over-red on one side. Here's a link to the thread I made on the imaging and display board, when it first happened:

http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=364130

I've tried all the things I've said in that thread, and it seemed to fix itself. However now it's resurfaced just over a week afterwards. This time I noticed the same problem - Doom 3 crashed whilst I was playing it causing my machine to lock up with a sort of checkered pattern all over both of my screens.

What I'm thinking now is it's some problem with my card, it's not overheating (checked temps in the prog that comes with the card - 'expertool' and it's 50 degrees C - no more than usual). Could there be something else perhaps?

I'm stumped.

Your monitor is probably going bad.

The monitor could cause the crashing too? The exact same thing happened while I was playing The Punisher (which is how it first happened in the other post), it happened at the exact same spot and it doesn't seem to happen with other games (I've played Painkiller for a fair while and nothing went wrong).

Arg, again it managed to fix itself but now it's come back again! And just before, the monitor wouldn't even turn on... It said it was receiving no signal - but I'd checked the connections...

I'll just add that I've tried both the 66.93 and the 67.66 drivers.

A bit of a development, I came home this evening and saw it flicker between red and normal. This made me think that it's a connection thing, but again I've checked them and they're fine...
