Anyone, how do i make Win Xp or Win 2K work with RAID.

My problem is that every time i try to install the above OSīs, it just says with a blue screen that no hdd controller driver is installed.

Itīs almost like Win Xp or W2K just ignoring the raid...

I have looked at Promise homepage for problems with win xp, and thay say that it should be running fine with RAID.

I have loaded the RAID drivers when (trying) to install the osīs.

NO LUCK !!!

NO RAID.. NO GOOD..

HELP !!

I am pretty sure that win2k will not install on a raid setup. I do not know about winXP but since it is based on win2k so it also probably will not install on a raid aswell.

But is there any way around?

Installing Win 2k or Win Xp, at regular IDE connection and then setup a RAID Array??

I think you have to copy the install files down, then run them from the harddrive(s)... I know someone did this recently, as a matter of fact, I'm the only techie in my group of friends NOT running RAID... and they all run XP Po' too.

I have run both XP and Win2k Adv Server on my IDE RAID setup.

When you are booting to the CD on setup, it will ask you to press F6 if you need to install any 3rd party or RAID drivers. Press F6, it will ask for the driver disk, supply the disk that came from the MFG for your card and it will install the drivers. Then you should not have any problems.

Lemme know if you need more help...
