3rd party program to make a video out of webcam?

well I wanted to make a video with webcam but the software that comes with my webcam..uses too much space for a short video. About 10mb for like a 10 sec clip to be exact..I tried to mess around with the setting but no help...anyone know any 3rd party progrma that can lower the size of the video?
