I just put 2 coats of clear coat on my freshly painted case and the results are very cloudy. Am I doing something wrong? It looked very shiny before applying the clearcoat. I followed the directions on the can of Krylon Clear Coat. Do I need to buff it out or something?

Blushing (or "cloudiness") is often a result of excess humidity during the spraying process.
AFAIK there is no cure other than sanding and respraying.

I am not a professional painter ( although I have played one on TV), so maybe there is a fix (or another cause).

It turns out that it does not play nice with the Duplicolor chrome paint I was using. I found another thread where the person had the same problems as me with the same paint. I just sanded it down again and put a nice fresh coat of chrome paint on again, and it actually looks pretty good with the clear coat as an undercoat.

That would have been my post about the paint. The paint will dull and start turning grey after a while. It really needs a clearcoat. I got a pretty good result by letting it cure under a heat lamp for a day or so then spraying very and I mean very light coats on it. It may take abou 10 coats to get one thin one, but its the price you pay for going chrome. Oh and a side not. No clear coat plays well with it :). I tried 5 different kinds

you made sure the clear coat wasn't satin finish?

The Dupli-colour Chrome isn't supposed to be clear coated. If you have a read through the FAQ's on Dupli-colour's pages, you'll see that the chrome paint is an enamel, and has a "re-spray window", as in it needs the second coat to be applied in one to two hours, or you have to wait five days. Anywhere in between, and the paint job gets screwed.

Also, if you used a laquer clear coat, it will lift the enamel, possibly causing the problem you have.
