OK here is the deal. I'm putting together a system.

-I got a Geforce 6800GT GS (Gainward, guaranteed to run at 6800 ultra speeds)

-I have an IC7-G II Max motherboard. I have crapy RAM Kingston HyperX PC-3500

OK I know my CPU will do 3.6Ghz on air. It is a 3.0C. So that would be at 240Mhz FSB. However there is no way I can ran at 1:1 ratio on this RAM. So I want to buy new RAM. I can get 550Mhz RAM 2x256MB of OCZ fairly cheap.

My question is. If I can only hit 240Mhz FSB or maybe 243-244. Is it worth to buy that RAM? Is there any way I can have the RAM running at a higher rate than the CPU?

Also is 512MB enough for today's games? Would I be better off getting mmm 466Mhz RAM that could possibly do 488Mhz and get 1GB instead of 512MB?

I have 2x512 now and I know some games eat a lot of RAM so I really don't know what to decide. Any suggestions?

Right now I can get this for $129+free shipping

512MB, PC4400, Dual-channel Optimized, Timings: 3-4-4-8, copper color heat spreader included, (2 x 256 kit)

get the speed premium (twinmos ) pc3200 with the winbond utt chips. it costs about 150.00 .then buy the ocz ddr booster.these chips will run to 250/260 @2.2.2.5 @3.4/3.5 volts. this ram is MADE for ur setup...

I didn't think there was PC3200 RAM that could hit over 250Mhz wow. My ****ty HyperX PC3500 dies at 225Mhz or so. What would be the recomended RAM to be able to hit 250MHZ. I need 1 GB. 2x512MB

Remember I might hit 244Mhz FSB max so I don't need RAM that hits 300Mhz or 275Mhz

I want to run 1:1 ratio and I know MY CPU will max at 244Mhz for sure just on air.
