Hi there!

I can't get over 1 GHz barrier!
See my specs below...
Over 1 GHz, the PC doesn't even POST correctly... Whern Windows TRIES to startup, it reboots (!!!) and crashes, afterwards... Power button off! :(

What can I do? I've even increased VCore, VIO, almost everything... Can it be a limitation of the Board? Asus A7V 1.02 BIOS 1008? Or the CPU itself?

Please help me... I've got it ROCK STABLE at 1 GHz (10*100) with cool temps (30 Mobo, 38 to 45 CPU)... But anything over 1 GHz...

HELP! :((

You have most likely reached the maximum overclock for that CPU. But the fact that you could get it to a gig is reassuring, being that I will soon have a 800 TBird myself, hopeflly at a gig, running an Epox 8KHA and 256MB DDR...
Peace and thermal grease

Mine is a bit old :) And also I have a bad (I guess...) 250 W max PSU (OEM)...
But the CPU, at 10 * 100 (Unlocked) works just great!! With ALL default settigns :)

I could get it to boot with 10.5*100, but in the middle of windows startup, the PC reboots and crashes afterwards... Could it be bad PSU?
I really like to see it get over 1 Gig, cause it's SOOOOOOO stable at 1 Gig... Any hint?

Thx!

Those are warm temps, you might try to find a volt-mod for over 2v since it seems that would make it more stable once you raise the multiplier. At least it does for most, bu5t your definately have more heat to deal with

Do you think the reason for the 1 gig barrier is voltage?
Or could just be the CPU?

How about raising the FSB? You get better performance that way.
Lower the multipler a bit and the start raising the fsb.

8.5*120=1020 is better than
10*100= 1000 and I'm not just talking the extra 20 mhz.

Play with both factors.. You don't have to go crazy just bump it up slowly and see what happends. Just pure CPU power isn't always that good. Each mulitplier you go up you gain about 2% performance. But if you go from 100fsb to 120 that is a 20% gain in performance.

Anything over 1000 MHz crashes my PC...
That's my real problem!! And over 105 fsb same thing....
I'm really bugged! :(
Though, with 10*100, with sandra. it's better than a pIII 1 GHzand almost as good as a tbird 1400 :)

do the vmod.....most ppl have trouble going over 1ghz just because not enough voltage provided for cpu
