It was on a Hard Drive I havent used in about a year. I need to get some stuff off of it before formating it. I found a proceedure using the xpcd to do a repair. Any other ideas. thank you.

Create an XP password reset disk. I never tried it but i heard it works. Good Luck

Can you just hook it up as a slave drive and copy the files over?

try opening the run box and typing control userpasswords2, that assuming you can get on the administrator account through safe mode

Here is instructions on how to brute force crack it, if necessary. It works pretty well. Might take an hour or two on a decent machine..
