putting together a new rig with an asus a8n-sli can anyone recomend a good psu? do i need a 24 pin one?

My suggestions for SLI would be the Fortron FSP550-60PLG, OCZ 520w+, SilenX/Fortron 600w, Enermax SLI 600w, Zippy above 500w, or PC Power & Cooling 510 SLI.

Whatever you do, choose Quality over Quantity.

Meaning ... good models like OW suggested are better than ultra high wattage
cheap generic PSU.

i was looking at the antec 480 "neopower" (or whatever its called) :p

any chance any of those come sleeved?

Nope, but sleeving ain't that hard. Personally would stay away from the neopower.
