when my computer is playing any sound format, and the mic is about to be used, the sound then becomes slow...
ie: when listening to mp3s and i get a talk request in AIM, or with the new CS. all the sounds are played at a slow rate

anyone know how to fix this??

i have the same audio controller, but never used the imput and output at the same time. Ill try it and if i have same prob ill get back with you and give you the fix

I do belive the problem is the onboard sound chip. As far as I know, it's 16 bit sound, which doesn't really provide the resources for multiple signals at the same time. You can try upping the memory allocated to the sound, but it's not really going to get that much better. You might also want to try checking for an updated driver for your sound.
