A short while ago, my Ehiem 1048 decieded it was going to give me some trouble.
-making all sorts of wierd noise.

So instead of taking the time (hint-hint) & trouble shooting the system; which has run 24/7 for months on end, I decieded to pull the pump out & drop in my spare. - Via Aqua 1300. (so-so pump)

I watched that pump for a few days, looking at the water pressure coming out of my return line. not bad at 1st.

Then it started to drop off like crazy. - danger point
the flow was reduced by like 1/2 - no kidding.
Thought it needed the glue mod. slipping impeller?

I pulled the Ehiem apart to find no probs.
wiped it out good & benched it.

Make a little noise - air stuck in the pump.
Once that was out - perfect. :D

Hmmm.. maybe I should have trouble shot it before pulling it out. (go figure)

So, I reinstalled everything in a different configuation,
now runs:
pump/cpu/nb/res & back to pump. 36C

before I had it going:
pump/rad/nb/cpu/res @38C

I am using Ehiem 1048 pump/ Neomoses cpu block/ Neomoses nb block/
Home made res :) & 1987 Chuvette HC with a 120mm 103cfm fan & Mw521 copper fan shroud. (Mw521 is a forum member for those who don't know)

The Neomoses block is similar to a WW & equals the performance in my opinion.

In switching res's, with my "Old" home made one installed, the system held 2 liters of H2O.
With the current one installed, system holds 1 liter.

Jist of all this, check you shiete out before removing it & going through the hassel of a day with no pc. /wink

& make sure you're happy with you setup.

:attn:

P.S. the via aqua is fine, it just doesn't like the type of restriction
it get from the cpu block. with an open chas cpu block, I'm sure it'd be fine.
Peace/out.

Come on Warrior, give us some pics of your new setup. Nice to see you back up and running.

Now I just need to get my own back up......

:D

You can barely see that "GIG" of Corsair TCCD hiding in there.

Not pretty, but it rocks. :D

Hell, I'd be happy to just get the current configuration running the first time. 'Though I will have the BIX 3 mounted tonight (crossing fingers). Gotta put the motherboard in first or it'll never fit and I got to hope I don't need to do any more drilling :)

Homemade aluminum res there? Looks a LOT different from that old install you had with the MCW370 in it.
