you know there is an intel forum for this kind of thing. I don't understand why you put it in the amd forum unless is was some kind of childish teasing, which would be wasted as most people in the amd forum know how irrelavent the mhz is concerning the p4.

YES that is FAST, but my 1.33@1620 has pr rating of over 2ghz. (SiSandra)So that means its fast=faster than a p4 2ghz, my friend has a p42gig and wants to always come and use my puter.

No point to this post but just had to add to the sheer ineffiency of the p4:cool:

Cool, the Athlon 1.4 Gig finally starts to have some competition.

Just to get something straight,Phil, I never even payed any attention to what it was running except that it was really fast.I don't play childish games, and if you took the time to read my signature you would have noticed that I am extremely partial to AMD(although my only non'OC'ed puter is an Intel). It was posted as I thought that it was interesting,I have never heard of anything, be it Intel or AMD, that has gotten that high.It was posted out of pure amazement on my behalf; the fact that it was an Intel never crossed my mind! .They also have AMDs (I have since looked back there to see)that also run in the high 2000s.If I knew that some people were so damn defensive as to be offended by this than I would not have even shared it( or anything in the future for that matter as I will be afraid to post in fear of upsetting a few sensitive people) I would have taken greater care. This post was in no way intended to upset,or begin an AMD-Intel debate. I apologize to anyone that may have taken my meant to be harmless,non-prejudicial,informatative post only the wrong way.By the way,I agree with whoever it was that made it a point to let me know how much faster his 1.33 AMD was than the 2.0Intel as I already knew that, that's why I only buy AMDs.

For what price???
P4 2Ghz= more than 500$
T-Bird 1.4Ghz = less than 200$

Correct me if I'm wrong... Israely prices:rolleyes:

I meant in pure performance only. Pricewise/performance wise, there's no competition, AMD is king.

I wasn't offended by your post, and I don't think any AMD diehard should either. You weren't putting down AMD nor praising Intel, it was simply a FYI post. I'm impressed with that OC. Now does this mean I'm gonna ditch my Athlon pride and joy system and get a P4? Maybe, if the performance beat AMD. I'm stupid and be loyal to any company. I'm going with whatever gives me better performance/price ratio. Right now, there's no question, AMD lead in terms of price/perf.

LOL! Has somebody been watching too much Monty Python lately? :) I haven't much to say regarding the original post as I don't think a P4 is in my future...maybe...maybe when the .13's get here...but they're will hopefully (read: most likely) be an unlocked...better performing equivalent from AMD.

Yea, I wouldn't mind a .13 micron Socket-A chip, but I think I am going to wait for a .13 SOI Hammer-series chip as my next major upgrade. Until then, I'll be upgrading things like HD and sound card. (Cuda IV and Audigy)

What is the Audigy? Is it out yet, because my sound card sucks!

Thanks brother man for the reply! Sounds good to me! Would,
also enjoyed your Duron thread. Very professional!

I wasn't offended I just don't get why this was in the amd forum.
I'm not an amd fan, they are just a chip company hardly something I would support, in fact I don't even own an amd chip.
But like I said I don't get why this was in the amd forum unless it was a dig at amd owners or you just didn't think.
I'm sorry if my post came across a bit harsh.

I can see myself with an Intel P4 setup.... IF prices come down. I've definitely been interested by the P4X266 chipset, as it seems to be the best performing DDR chipset right now, period... The one stipulation is that I'd have to see a full motherboard/RAM/CP setup for less than $300..... which, knowing Intel, is not likely to happen.

First priority, though, is definitely dual Durons. No doubt about that, I will be first in the e-line when MSI or Abit come out with a decent dual socket A board.

I could as well..but w/ Rambus RAM and the current pricing...plus pricing will most likely be high at first for the new cores. I would not spend money on an SDR/P4 setup...waaay too slow. Just have to wait and see what the prices look like!!
