Hi all. I did a search for this but nothing came up so i thought i'd ask. The modstream PSU's are almost the same design as the Powerstream PSU's except for the modular thingy and different amperage( correct? ). So with that being said, Can you adjust the pots of the Modstream 520 PSU internally? Anyone have a modstream that can vouche for this?

Thanks.

The Modstreams are not the nearly the same design at all. They are based on an inferior model from toppower ( I think thats the supplier).

I see your Powerstream died on you. Would OCZ not warranty it?

No I bought it off ebay a while ago and cannot get ahold of the original purchase papers. Is toppower a good brand then? Does anyone still know if the pots can be adjusted?

No adjustable pots for the modstream and I don't have a direct link but I have seen an OCZ rep clearly saying in a forum post that if your gonna overclock and what performance get a powerstream.

Modstream is not the same quality as the powerstreams although it's not bad as a general powersupply, it's more of a visual thing, and basically market stragedy wise they had to bring one out since Antec, UltraX, and others brought out modular cable powersupplies.

OCZ is basically forced to bring one out also so they won't lose market share by not having one.

Here is a small price comparison to take into account.

Mostream 520w goes for about $120

Powerstream is about $135-140

To me the price difference isn't worth it to get a modstream. For $20 more dollars your getting a much better psu. Unless your into that modular cable thing, then by all means get a modstream.

I bought a 520 Powerstream. I have absolutely no regrets whatsoever. Definately worth the extra money. IMO

Cool. So i guess ill be better off buying another Powerstream. Didn't want to spend this much cash but ya get what you pay for i guess.

EDIT: I was reading the other thread on about a adjustable 500w psu. And that Fortron Blue looks nice. Too many choices.
