What is the difference between the 530 and the 530J. From what i can see on newegg they have the same specs but the 530 is more expensive on newegg and everyone seems to be buying it while noone has left votes or reviews for the 530J.

J is an E0 while the non J is a D0. You want the J

I'll vote for the 530J. I think it is a great proc. See my sig. But it won't work in the mobo you have in your sig.

bro i dont think any LGA775 cpu will work on his comp. But if u do upgrade your mobo, go for the J, E0 stepping processors are tearing up the older processors in overclocking

Mine shows as 530 ( no J ) but it is EO stepping ? What does this mean ?

I believe part of the "J" part is to destinguish the ones with XD, the 530 doesn't have XD. It's kinda all about the features of the chip rather than speed and stepping.

as valcanowarez said, the "J" proc's have XD which was first started in A64 procs
(and a feature of SP2)
