Opinions, comments, what are/ what is the best one and why? I'd prefer using a forum that runs of HTML, but if it sufficiently easy to use, I'll use just about anything. I'd just like to know what you think are the best one(s): most features, ease of use, most reliable, best looking, ect......

Its alright if it isn't remotly hosted, but if you suggest one that isn't if you could please suggest somewhere to host it, free. Thank you.

I have used probaords (http://www.proboards.com/index.html) it seemed to work good, you can pay a little bit for the upgraded service (no ads). You cannot sell anything from the free service. If you violate the "terms of srvice" they will delete your board with the blink of an eye. I stopped using them when I got my own hosting and now run the full fledged website.

EDIT: I use http://www.myupb.com/ right now, can't use anythig else on my stupid host.

if you have your own server, I'd get phpbb2. Its awesome to use and theres loads of mods for it.

I would have to agree with SavageBasher. I use phpBB2 and have never had a problem. I have found tons of mods for it.

Hmm....well, I don't have a server. If I hosted it somewhere, would it work the same way? I'll looked for the hacked vbulletin ones :). Tried proboards and had some problems with it. Their servers were constantly down :(.

I may use the forum system at: http://www.myupb.com/, although that would mean I'd have to learn php, which wouldn't be that bad, but a little of an annoyance. Anyway, the forums look cool.....and don't you all laugh about how you know 80 computer languages fluently. Everyone's different :-/.

I'll try looking for BeeHive 0.5 and my own free hosted webspace, since it looks liked I'm going to needed it. Since I'm currently still searching for that elusive free Remotely Hosted Message Forum (besides proboards) thats got lots of nice additions, mods, ect... and a nice look if I find anything of interest I'll just post it here.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far, and keep them coming!

.....back to Google :).

http://www.forumforfree.com/

Found this on a google search....Also heard that the invision boards are pretty nice also..

OR like everyone else said find yourself an old computer..cheap or free (an ol pentium will do) run win2k on it and This Thread (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=272080) shows you what you need and howto set up your server along with the PHPBB2 bulletin boards and you have complete control as your hosting it on your own site and computer.....
