Ok to make a long story short....

I had a aquastealth kit, replaced the block and radiator with a dden maze2 and a dden cube. This setup is on a tbird 1.2gig. Both the aquastealth kit and the dden stuff cooled very well, idle at around 26-28 C.

Then I went bong cooling with the same dden block, great temps once again.

So I switch back to radiator cooling with the EXACT same setup as before, dden block and cube. I had horrible results! Any cpu activity would find my cpu hovering around 50 C! I ripped the setup apart and put it back together god knows how many times and I couldnt get the temps down! I underclocked my cpu to 800 to get it at reasonable temps just so I could use my computer!

So finally I gave up, I couldnt think of what to do, I had reapplied the dden block and its thermal grease half a dozen times.

So I get my old Aquastealth block and slap it in just for laughs and as I sit here typing this I am at 26.3 C! So there was something terribly wrong with my dden block!

I have always thought of the dden maze as being the better block and it had performed that way until this problem. What could I have done to degrade the performace of this block so heavily?

The bottom is not scratched or dirty, still as nice and smooth as the day it arrived. I always use thermal grease and get out all the air bubbles.

Only thing I can think of is that when doing bong cooling you have an open system?!

Please help explain this to me!

Is there any corrosion inside the DD block?
