I just purchased a new AMD 1.4 processor with the batch code of AYHJA. I have read review after review on boards using AMD 760, VIS, ALI, and SIS 735 chipsets. The more I read the more I get confused.
I plan to overclock and I am looking for any input on what motherboard I should purchase. If I overclock then that brings me to the next question.
What is the best heatsink/cooling fan for the processor?
This is my first post to a message forum and I hope someone can give me some input. Thanks
Welcome to the forums and I believe Would71 meant to say buy the 8k7a+ cuz it has raid and it is cheaper!
If you could wait a few weeks, VIA KT266A mobos should be available. It's very fast. As for heatsink I would recommend the Thermalright SK6. If you can't wait for the KT266A mobos, get the Epox that other ppl recommended.

epox 8k7a or 8kha
it's the best
the 8k7a has the +/- 0.4v option for the cpu vcore so you won't need a vmod to get higher voltages
but the 8kha has ALL OPTIONS in the bios so you wouldnt need to set ANYTHING with dip switches where as in the 8k7a you would need to

I have the time to wait. Just now rounding up everything. I currently have a FIC SD-11 MOBO with and AMD 750 that my son will get for his computer. I was told you can not O/C this MOBO so I never have ever tried.
My current power supply is a 300 watt that came with the Enlight 7237 case.
My current system includes, ZIP, HP 8100 BURNER, IBM 15g. DRIVE, SB LIVE DRIVE, TOSHIBA 40X CD, SONY FLOPPY, MATROX G400, BOSTON THEATER SURROUND, USR 56K, 5 FANS, and 128M OF MICRON.
