I just purchased a Celeron 850 processor, and I am very impressed with it. I installed it on my old bh6, and used an asus smart slot, and started the computer. I set the voltage to 1.7v, started windows at 850, then increased bus to 112, and it loaded, then to 124 and it loaded, then 133mhz and it loaded no problem. It ran with no problems at 133mhz bus, and 1.70v, so I decided to reduce voltage to 1.60v to decrease heat, and it hasn't hung yet! it is more stable than my 300a@450..

I have run 3dmark for 2 hours at 1133mhz, and 1.6v no problems. These chips are great for overclocking. The benchmarks are a little faster than a piii 1ghz, and an athlon 1ghz.. Very very cheap. An celeron 850 can be bought for $65USD ($100CDN)... I tried lowering the voltage to 1.5v, but it isn't stable... I think this chip could do a lot higher maybe ~1400mhz but my bh6 doesn't support any faster bus speed.

If any of you are looking at a Celeron this is the information on my box...

You won't reach 1400, that's rare even with the cD0 chips, but 1200 is a realistic figure... I had the P3 in my signature at 1.2ghz 99% stable (before my video card upgrade which toasted my overclocking abilities are you can see).

Hmm, that is interesting, I guess I would have to try it to see... It just seems like it may be a possibility considering I am .15 volts below stock voltage, and I am still doing 1133mhz perfectly stable. All of my components handle the bus speed, and I have a bx chipset, and the dividers are all 1/3 and everything runs fine except for my asus cdrom.... I am looking at a video card, but you say the Radeon isn't good for overclocking, that is the one I was looking at :/....

lol errr i find it very hard to believe my celly 850 needs 2.05 V to be stable @ 1106......... 1.6 seems a little low.....

Well, each chip is different, and has different voltage needs. I can only get my P/// 700E to run stable at 968 @ 2.1v, but there's others running 1001 at 1.9v

The part that I find interesting, is if memory serves, the C850 runs 1.7v default, so you're running less that default vcore, and overclocking to 1100+.... Hmmm... That's the part I'm curious about.

I know these chips will do it, but at LESS than default vcore??

Any chance of a screenshot of a Sandra benchie showing MHz and vcore?

guys..

thanks slick for the info..

im buying a celeron 900 in replace for my p3 450..

i had a va6 mobo, updated the bios.

it supports up to 150mhz bus.

is it possible to run my p3 450 or my upcoming celeron 900 higher than 133mhz?

when i speed the bus speed at 140mhz, it worked on my p3 450 giving it 630mhz, but it wont boot onto windows. i dunno why...

but, can i run fsb's higher than 133mhz? i got 2 x 32mb 100mhz sdram and 1 x 128mb 133mhz sdram.

in that case of my memory.. do i have a chance to run my processor higher than 133mhz?

thanks i advance guys!

Hey, I know a lot of people are doubting my chip. People have asked for some screen shots so I am posting them... These screen shots show the chip, the voltage, and the speed. I have a friend who has a motherboard that goes up to 150mhz, I am going to try my chip in his motherboard to see if it can go any higher. I will post here when I find out..

Also, stock voltage is 1.70 someone said, on the box on my Celeron it says 1.75v?

I just had my celeron 800 post 1304@2v. I bet your chip can do exceptional speeds if its running 1.6v now.

What speed are you running at now? and what voltage?

i run it 1200MHz@1.95v 150fsb .......24/7
I just install an abit sa6 with more bus speeds and posted 1304MHz@2v on that board and almosted loaded windows@1280MHz@2v. But on the sa6 my ram wouldnt run 150fsb cas2 so i put my p3v4x back in and am stuck @150 fsb, none higher on this board

I have two more picutres of my cpu. The first one shows the chips voltage, the chip speed and the voltage. The second shows the memory speed, all of my memory is running at 2!

I just tested my cpu in a different motherboard, and we got it to do 1190@1.70v stable, we ran sisoft sandra, we also tried 1275@1.70v and it posted and started to boot windows but then it crashed, we highred the voltage but it didn't help. We are prettty sure it is because of the Memory we were using, only using Pc133 memory, but I am very happy with 1133mhz in my bh6 :)

I have my celeron 850@1133 since 2 years ago, all i has to do was put the jumper forcing 100mhz to run at 133 mhz no voltage need change need, is runing at 1.73 vc very very stable (more than a weak without restarting) it rules !. (the mother is a ecs elite group p6isa-ii
I have other processor, a pentium 667@750 slot 1, (+7,5 % vc with sy-vba133) runs good, sometimes crashes but nothing to worry about, my problem is with my third machine (with same soyo mother) its a pentium3 550 (katmai) it runs very hot even w/o o/c, allways 55 ºc when i try to o/c it reaches 70º, im going to sell it now, unless anyone can help to o/c
