how to tell if a drive is a partition

I just got hold of a friends comp, and i dont know which drive is partitioned. He has three drives (c,e,f) but i know physically there are only two hard disks in his comp. how do i tell which drive is just a partition?

If its XP, run diskmgmt.msc
If its some other version of Windows, it should have a fdisk

Yep, do that and if says "Logical" drive that's the hard drive with the partition.
