I am upgrading my primary box from a A64 754 3200+ on a Asus K8N-E deluxe.
(237 X 10) 2.5-3-3-6, 1T, HT4.

To a new Epox EP-9NDA3+ and a new Winchester 939 3200+ 90Nm A64 CPU.

Right now I have 2 sticks of OCZ Performance series PC3200 Rev3 512 MB sticks.

I was planning on moving them over to the new board and CPU...But there are a lot of posts about needing something like G.Skill to really take advantage of the CPU.

I'm pretty sure on my "Old" board, that it's my CPU giving out at 2370 and not my ram...

Not positive, but that's what it "Feels" like.

If changing ram is a "Must" then I would take some suggestions....
That G.Skill at 279 seems steep...
there was also a Corsair memory that I was looking at....

I'd rather not spend another 300 unless there is a real COMPELLING reason...

Thanks for your input!

Well, if you're looking for some G.Skill that is decent, cheap memory that can go high on not that bad of timings, look at http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231007

The extra bandwidth from running 1:1 will help, but with the A64 you don't get the major performance hit from running your memory asynch. I would say to try what you have, and drop your memory setting to 166. You can probably hit your max on the cpu that way, and then see how you feel about investing in better memory. If you feel the need, my gskills are very nice.

Holy crap garste......

Your system is almost EXACTLY the same as mine (Will be)

Even the same Swiftech and power supply!
Same EVGA video...

I've got a Delta EHE fan om my swiftie....you???

Works out to a great combo doesn't it?!?!

I've also put a Delta 120MM side fan that blows directly on the video and vents the case..as well as a 120mm "Blowhole" with a slower fan to keep enough air going through the power supply.

I'm using the 56cfm panaflo with an adapter on mine, cool and quiet. Great combo - exactly. My " J " is solid as a rock at 9 x 280, 1:1. A little advice: slots 3 & 4 might work better for your memory; I'd try that first. Good luck with it, and let us know how you do.

I've read that slots 3+4 work better for CPU OC...
In instances where your Mem won't go ballistic....

1+2 if you have Top Notch Mem that can do @300 w/Low Latency...

Good advice..I would have tried 1+2 straight away..Pretty Purple..MMMMMMMM

I just wrote Newegg a memo....
Price drop form 194.00 to 180.00 for the processor I ordered!
I want a credit!!!

Can't beat that with a stick!
