....available at Staples for $280.00
Anyone familiar with it? Great price, but is it at least a *good* monitor?
According to this link it's 16ms response time:

I can game at 25ms but notice occassional ghosting/tearing. 16ms isn't too bad, 12 and lower is the gamer's standard now. I played Doom3 on a 8ms L90D+ today, it was the sweetness.
Proview is considered 'generic'. I would buy it for a second screen but probably not expect it to perform as a primary, especially if I was thinking of gaming on it. The rest of the specs look alright (good viewing angle, proper native resolution, 450:1 contrast isn't bad).

thanks pinky! i ended up getting it because the price was exceptional for the its specs and i'm not dissapointed. fired up hf2 and NO GHOSTING! plays great....
this might be one of those rare generic bargains out there.... stay tuned for more feedback!

It's an allright screen, my dad has it. Though he doesn't play any graphic intense games like HL2 or Doom3. He only plays RTS games..though I can say it looks great from what I've seen.

Just bought one. Its a solid second monitor and for gaming I really didn't have any visual issues. A bit of tearing/Ghosting but not enough to write home about but for 279 it rocks.
I believe that this is the same panel as the samsung. Its got the same OSD as the 913n and I am guessing from the quality that its all samsung guts. The exterior is a little on the plasticy side (the stand and the back of the monitor)
From the Front it looks great
Again if you want a second monitor this is a solid panel to get,
You know what is funny though. I never in a million years would have thought I would drop $800 on monitors and junk, but I can't see going CRT on anything. Heck I am looking for a cheapo 15" for my work bench now.
I hate you people :P

your welcome ;)
I was there witgh Balthzar when he turned it on. After a little tinkering (it was a tad bright out of the box) and testing I'd have to say I'm impressed. After seeing the display settings menu for a split second I KNEW it was a Samsung panel (identical display and specs as the Samsung 913N).
Not bad for $280 plus tax, local.
Sadly, I don't need one but if I did this would be a steal. It seemed to game pretty well, better than my 25ms monster I have now. I'm starting to resent this 21.3" :p
